Andrei Morozov
Andrei was born in Ekaterinburg, a large industrial city on the east side of the Ural Mountains, Russia. The long cold winters gave him plenty of time to draw, paint and play with clay. When asked as a child what he thought his greatest gift was, he replied - imagination. His hunger-need for form came before the work to sculpt and realize his imagination. His vision and desire to do dimensional art grew since early childhood. For the most part Andrei was self-taught. And to make his vision more real he attended the University of Alaska Art department and also studied under the instruction of several modern day masters. Working with ancient whale and walrus bone, moose horn, wood and soapstone he sculpts the beauty of Alaskan nature in frozen motion. Andrei Morozov operated his own studio in Homer, Alaska for the last 10 years. He and his family are currently living in Hawaii.
