Alaskan Art Glass
Lisa Carlon Glass-Nost Three Dimensional Glass Window Hangings Soldotna, Alaska Glass Artist (click on thumbnail to enlarge)
Tam Johannes Design Handcrafted glass trays, serving boards, and coasters designed and created by Alaskan Artist Tam Johannes. Each copper inclusion is hand drawn, cut out and then embellished for a one-of-a-kind look. The copper image is signed and dated by the artist. The process involves layering copper between clear art glass and firing at a "warm" temperature of about 1600 degrees. A second "cooler" firing of about 1300 degrees is required to shape the piece. Trays and Serving Boards may be used for cutting. For best results, please hand wash and do not use in the microwave.

Lise McCann Hoffman Oceanid Designs, Inc. "Glass is my canvas. Just as every painter carefully chooses a canvas, I select my glass pieces which incidentally come from all over the world." Often mistaken for etched glass, the artist stresses that no chemicals are used. The glass is sculptured through a combination of high pressure sand carving and diamond engraving. She has recently completed several pieces of architectural glass art for the new Alaska Islands and Oceans Visitor Center in Homer, Alaska. (click on thumbnail to enlarge)
